On June 11, Chopra paid tribute to her father on social media, writing, "The light of every room. You’re still our brightest light, Dad. 11 years without you, and it still doesn’t feel real. I think of you today and every day. I love you. Forever. Hold your loved ones close and tell them you love them. Time can be short."

Take a look at her post here.

Dr Ashok Chopra had battled cancer for a long time before passing away in 2013 at the age of 62. Recently, Chopra appeared on the Read the Room podcast, where she spoke about her father’s death and its impact on her. She shared, "After my dad passed away, I came to the slow but steady conclusion that that kind of pain would never go away. It’s your companion. So, if you are thinking of or waiting for the day when it starts hurting less, when it doesn’t affect you anymore, or when you get over it, you are never getting over it; it becomes a companion."
